Indoor allergens are more common than outdoor allergens causing allergic rhinitis and asthma

Indoor allergens – House dust mite is the commonest allergen followed closely by cockroach, house dust, animal dander

Outdoor allergens - Grass pollen, weeds, shrubs, tree pollen are common allergens. Certain occupational allergens could also be responsible.

Allergen profile changes as per the local flora and fauna. Allergic panel needs to be selected depending upon local pollen calendar and symptom pattern after taking a careful history.

Certain food allergens like milk or egg and certain nuts could also be responsible for respiratory symptoms along with skin rashes.
