Early administration of the first dose of rotavirus vaccine as soon as possible after 6 weeks of age has been recommended by WHO .

IAP Recommendations

  1. Minimum age: 6 weeks for all available brands
  2. Only two doses of RV-1 are recommended at 6 and 10 weeks
  3. If any dose in series was RV-5 or RV-116E or vaccine product is unknown for any dose in the series, a total of three doses of RV vaccine should be administered.
  4. Recommendations on the age limit - First dose not beyond 16 weeks age and the last dose not beyond 32 weeks of age
