Once you suspect celiac disease get the serological screening done. IgA antibody for tissue transglutaminase (TTG IgA Level) must be performed. At the same time while getting the TTG IgA Level, ask for quantitative estimation of IgA antibody also to avoid false negative test.
If the TTG IgA Level are above normal range, the child must be referred to a pediatric gastroenterologist for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and duodenal mucosal biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. Once confirmed lifelong gluten free diet is the only practical definitive treatment option currently available. Never stop gluten or try to modify the diet without confirmed diagnosis!
