Mild Hydronephrosis: Needs limited monitoring with serial ultrasounds every 3 months till resolution. Identify and treat any Urinary Tract Infection(UTI) promptly.
Moderate to Severe unilateral or bilateral hydronephrosis: Refer to a Pediatric Nephrologist. Evaluation and management needs to be individualized.
Unilateral or bilateral hydronephrosis with AP dia more than 7 mm need careful follow up and those with AP dia more than 10 mm need to be started on antibiotic prophylaxis at birth, pending evaluation.
