If meconium-stained fluid is present and the baby is vigorous,suction the mouth and nose. The baby mayremain with the mother for the initial stepswhile delaying the cord clamping for 60 seconds. If the baby is notvigorous, then cord is immediately clamped &cut and baby is placed under a radiant warmer to perform the further steps** of resuscitation. Routine intubation for tracheal suction is notsuggested.
