Cochrane reviews has shown no significant benefit of pre-emptive use of antipyretics in preventing recurrence of febrile seizure-i.e. using antipyretics in fever, to keep the child afebrile round the clock does not decrease the risk of a Febrile seizures

Also, there is no significant benefit of NSAIDS like diclofenac, ibuprofen or mefenamic acid in febrile seizures.
