Early EEG (<7 days) has been shown to pick up abnormalities more commonly than late EEG. In case the EEG is abnormal, repeat the EEG again to confirm the abnormality after one to three months. Persistent EEG abnormalities in follow up are more consistent with risk of epilepsy in future.
